Studies/Demos on sale for under $20 this week

Just for fun and to help clear out the ole' studio I put quite a few paintings on auction sale for under a $20 start price w no reserve. I have also reduced multiple others. Art in the Square at Utica Square

Tomorrow morning at 9:00 I will be set up in front of Pendeltons and Starbucks at Utica Square. One day only sale where all paintings are marked down and all demos and studies are drastically reduced. Come visit me! Head 'em off at the Pass

I live near one of the best western art museums in the country. My favorite paintings there are the ones that are night paintings. In the background you can see one. Since I am an Oklahoma girl now, I figured I needed to have at least one or two cowboy/Indian themed paintings. This one will be for sale at the upcoming Utica Square Arts in the Square next weekend, October 7th.

Step by Step Still Life

Notice, no detail till nearly finished. Start with blocking in main color areas, make sure to cover every inch of the canvas with something. Also notice you don't have to paint everything in in perfect detail. We paint how the eye sees.... When you are looking at one specific thing, everything else looses its detail. I like to pick an area or two where I paint a flower or flowers in well and let the viewer make up the rest with their own eyes. If I paint one cherry blossom well, the viewer now knows that all those other white, flowery things are cherry blossoms, for example.
