New! Art Tiles

I just got hooked on a new thing and I love it! I am creating art tiles out of jpgs of my paintings. The tiles are vivid in color. They are 6x8 and can be hung or they have a support in the back that allows placement on a table top. I have them all in my ebay gallery

SOLD Hot Peppers starting bid $39

We like it hot around my house and my garden supplies lots of fodder for great little studies like this one. This little painting is one of about 15 daily paintings that I just listed on auction this week on ebay. This one has a very low starting bid ( w no reserve ) of $39. I have around 8 items starting at one penny so see if you can find them and get your bids in. The penny auctions are fun for me and I know they make it interesting for my buyers so have fun bidding. ( no reserve on those either )

SOLD Just for Fun

I had several new students who wanted to complete a painting in a day and several other students who were working on a still life. Since I teach demonstration style I was getting a lot of exercise that day. So here is the little painting that my new students worked from ( painted by me ) Just for fun, I posted this on ebay this week for one penny. White Iris, 6x6 oil on canvas

I CAN'T PAINT FAST ENOUGH!!!! My garden is in full bloom and I do mean full. Everything that could possibly be in season has decided to bloom. Irises with peonies with roses, primroses and more. I don't know where to turn or what to paint. Art Student Supply List

Supplies are as follows: Oil Paints: Specifically Windsor Newton brand Winton 200 ML size. Student grade is preferable and if it says ‘hue’ after the color that is fine, and preferable too; Alizarin Crimson, Cad. Red, Cad. Orange, Cad. Yellow Light, Yellow Ochre, Cerulean Blue, Sap Green, Ultramarine Blue, Titanium white, Burnt Sienna.

Assortment of boar bristle brushes from ¼” to 1: (feel free to get the cheap ones,) I like filberts but flats are ok too.

canvas : depends on what we are painting. Usually no larger than 16x20

Pallet; either purchase large pallet or 12 x 16 cardboard cover with freezer paper purchase Reynolds freezer paper in the grocery store where plastic wraps, foil are found.

A pallet box is optional but saves money in the long run.

I will supply easel, spirits, rags

Step by Step Still Life

Notice, no detail till nearly finished. Start with blocking in main color areas, make sure to cover every inch of the canvas with something. Also notice you don't have to paint everything in in perfect detail. We paint how the eye sees.... When you are looking at one specific thing, everything else looses its detail. I like to pick an area or two where I paint a flower or flowers in well and let the viewer make up the rest with their own eyes. If I paint one cherry blossom well, the viewer now knows that all those other white, flowery things are cherry blossoms, for example.
