My Covid gallery for this month is the YWCA in Tulsa Oklahoma

My Covid gallery for this month is the YWCA in Tulsa Oklahoma.  The new director at the Y asked me if I could fill his walls with color and I told him yes! It’s a perfect place to hang. Lots of great light and of course lots of walls. If you’re in Tulsa stop by. It’ll be up for the month of February and into March. When you get there just tell them you’re there To view the artwork as it is a members only and Covid precautions kind of place right now. It’s at 18th and Lewis in Tulsa

The last flowers of Summer

This is an 11 x 14 paining that I just finished. Well I think it’s finished but I may play with a little bit more today as often happens when I think I’m finished with something. After looking at it fresh, I think I may want to lose some edges here or there. Anyway this is the step-by-step process that I took to get where it is today. If you would like to purchase this paining you can do so for $295  Use the contact button to get a hold of me or just write me at margeeaycock @gmail.com

Twila’s dad and mom SOLD!

Each painting required a combination of a couple of different photos.   I had to swap both heads with a different body as she liked the face and hair on some of the pictures but didn’t like what they were wearing and wanted them to be more casual. If you’re going to do that you have to really be careful that both pictures have similar if not the same lighting. There’s had similar lighting and I had to fake it a little bit

Kitchen paintings

Most of these paintings were actually painted in my kitchen, and found a place to live above my sink for now

Fall

It is too darned hot to do any onsite paintings unless they happen to be parked in a lawn chair on the banks of a spring fed creek so I have moved inside and gone through some of the photos that I have in my "Things to paint " folder and come up with something to cool me off.... a nice fall painting.  This was actually taken of me last fall when we visited Post Oak Lodge just a few miles from my home.  I loved that we happened upon a field that was ablaze of orange/yellow grasses at that perfect time of day whey the sun is low in the sky and just lit them up.  I decided to really put myself in the landscape and make me a part of the landscape.. ( in the Fall of my life) My hair the color of the background trees, my sweater the color of the foreground.  I just liked the idea of being a part of it all.
